Mark Twain Elementary School kindergarten teacher Kailyn Kloster is this month’s Brentwood Eagles Teacher Feature. Kloster has been teaching kindergarten at Mark Twain for six years. She is certified in both early childhood and elementary education, as well as K-12 reading, and has earned three postsecondary degrees from Southeast Missouri State University.

Kloster loves working with Mark Twain’s youngest learners and enjoys watching them grow during their six years in elementary school. She recognizes the importance of building strong relationships with her students and families, which has translated into both academic and developmental success in her classroom.

“Kailyn is an outstanding teacher,” said Mark Twain Principal Carol Eastabrook. “She strives to ensure that all of her students are growing socially and academically, while serving as a valuable resource for our instructional team. We are extremely fortunate to have her at Mark Twain.”

In addition to teaching, Kloster sponsors Girls on the Run at Mark Twain and is a member of the district’s Professional Development Committee. Her hobbies include reading, hiking, traveling and decorating a nursery for her baby girl, who is scheduled to arrive in March.
