Brentwood Health Services
Healthy students are better learners, and our school nurses play an essential role in ensuring every child can fully participate in the classroom. Brentwood’s health services team supports the physical, emotional and social well-being of students so they feel safe, cared for and ready to learn each day.
School nursing is a specialized practice that promotes student health, advances academic success and strengthens lifelong wellness. Our nurses partner closely with families, teachers, administrators and health care providers to identify needs early, coordinate care and remove health-related barriers to learning. They support students with everyday needs as well as chronic or complex medical conditions, helping each child remain engaged in school with confidence.
In addition to managing illness and injury, school nurses promote healthy habits, create safe school environments and help connect families with community health resources. They provide direct care, case management and individualized health plans when needed, ensuring that students with acute or chronic conditions can attend school safely and successfully.
Health services include:
- Illness and injury assessment and interventions
- Identification, assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation of student health concerns
- Screening for health factors impacting learning
- Medication administration
- Support for chronic health conditions and individualized health plans
- Resources for health-related concerns and health education
