Inclement Weather and School Closings

The Brentwood School District administrative team is prepared for potential school closures caused by snow, ice and other inclement weather. Student and staff safety, road conditions and wind chill temperatures are key factors in our decision-making process.

Whenever possible, the decision to close school is made by 10 p.m. the night before. However, because weather events can develop in the early morning hours, some decisions must be made between 5-5:30 a.m. the following day.

We use multiple tools to notify families and staff of school closures:

  • Text Notifications: Sent via ParentSquare to families and staff.

  • Email Notifications: Sent via ParentSquare to families and staff.

  • Phone Calls: Sent via ParentSquare to families and staff when closures are decided during the day, before 10 p.m. or between 5-5:30 a.m.

  • Website: Posted on our district website.

  • Social Media: Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for updates.

  • Mobile App: Enable push notifications in the ParentSquare app, available in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

  • Local News: Brentwood will be listed on all major TV and radio stations.

ParentSquare syncs nightly with Infinite Campus to ensure accurate contact information for families and staff. You can update your email and phone number in Infinite Campus anytime, and changes will take effect in ParentSquare the following day. Please ensure your contact information is current and School Alerts are enabled in ParentSquare for accurate and timely notifications.
