Dr. Amy Zielinski, Superintendent of Schools

Dr. Amy Zielinski was hired as superintendent of the Brentwood School District in 2024. She brings more than two decades of experience in public education, including 12 years in administrative leadership, and is known for her commitment to student success, collaborative leadership and instructional excellence.

Before joining Brentwood, Dr. Zielinski served as assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction for the Ladue School District, where she led districtwide efforts in curriculum development, instructional coaching, assessment, data analysis and professional learning. She was instrumental in creating Ladue’s Comprehensive School Improvement Plan and helped implement an instructional framework that supports teacher growth and classroom effectiveness.

Throughout her career, Dr. Zielinski has served in a variety of roles, including middle and high school social studies teacher, dean of students and instruction at Brittany Woods Middle School in the School District of University City, and director of professional development in the Fox C-6 School District.

She also helped establish the Catalyst program — a regional initiative among the Brentwood, Clayton, Ladue and University City school districts — designed to help high school students explore their passions, develop future-ready skills and connect with real-world learning opportunities.

Dr. Zielinski earned her doctorate in educational leadership from Maryville University. She also holds a master’s degree in educational administration from Southwest Baptist University, a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Kansas, and a bachelor’s degree in history and secondary education from Rockhurst University.

She and her husband, Rob, have three children — Dominic, Cecilia and Benjamin.
