Non-Resident Enrollment at Brentwood

In Missouri, public school enrollment is determined by residency. Students typically attend the school district in which their parent or caregiver resides. This structure helps school districts plan for staffing, resources and programming based on the students who live within their boundaries.

The Brentwood School District offers a limited opportunity for non-resident students to attend our schools through a tuition-based enrollment option. We accept non-resident students in grades 6-12, as space allows, when families agree to pay the annually established tuition rate approved by the Board of Education. Non-resident students enrolled through this process are welcomed as full members of the Brentwood school community, with access to the same academic programs, extracurricular activities and student experiences as resident students.

Important Considerations

  • Annual Tuition Rate: Tuition is determined and approved each year by the Board of Education.
  • Enrollment Review: Admission is contingent upon the review of academic and disciplinary records.
  • Attendance and Conduct: Students are expected to meet all district expectations for attendance, behavior and participation.
  • Transportation: Families are responsible for providing transportation to and from school.
  • Special Education Services: Special education services are provided through the Special School District of St. Louis County. Availability of services may depend on residency requirements.

Families interested in non-resident enrollment are encouraged to contact Dr. Ronni Zagora, assistant superintendent of teaching and learning, to learn more about availability, the application process and next steps.
