School Counseling Curriculum

Brentwood’s school counseling curriculum supports growth from kindergarten through high school by helping students succeed academically, explore future opportunities and develop the personal and social skills needed for life beyond the classroom.

Grounded in Missouri’s K-12 School Counseling Learning Standards, the curriculum provides a consistent, developmentally appropriate framework for counseling services across all grade levels. Rather than a single class or course, it reflects ongoing instruction, guidance and support embedded throughout the school experience.

School counselors partner with families and educators to support learning, well-being and preparation for life after graduation, while meeting students where they are and helping them move confidently toward what’s next.

Together, this counseling curriculum guides the work of school counselors across all grade levels. By supporting academic growth, career readiness and personal development, the program helps students build confidence, strengthen decision-making skills and prepare for meaningful participation in school, career and community life.
