Gifted Program Growth
The gifted education program continues to expand as the district evaluates student needs, assessment practices and instructional opportunities.
During the 2025-26 school year, Brentwood will refine its screening tools, shorten the timeline between screening and eligibility decisions, and strengthen partnerships with regional specialists through professional development and participation in gifted education networks. The district will also complete a program self-assessment and establish clear long-range goals.
Looking ahead, Brentwood plans to build a middle school gifted program, develop a revised K-8 gifted curriculum, explore experiential learning opportunities and evaluate ways to align gifted services across Mark Twain and McGrath elementary schools.
These ongoing efforts reflect the district’s commitment to ensuring every student — including those with advanced learning needs — has meaningful pathways for growth, challenge and success.
